Our vision is to provide leading-edge laser and ultrasound systems that help ophthalmologists fight blindness.

Since the introduction of our first ophthalmic laser in 1985, Ellex has been building a knowledge base and reputation for excellence in ophthalmology. We are constantly working to leverage that knowledge – developing and introducing new products and treatments, and conducting research that pushes the envelope in terms of what ophthalmic technology can accomplish.

Today our products are used by ophthalmologists around the world to treat and diagnose patients with cataract, glaucoma and retina conditions.

With engineering and manufacturing in Adelaide, Australia, an optics and laser technology center, Ellex has evolved into a global company with sales and customer service offices in Japan, the United States, Europe and Australia. Our business has developed from OEM supply of some of the largest companies in ophthalmology, to reliance on our own branded products and sales to customers through our direct subsidiaries in the United States, Japan, Australia and Germany, and through our network of over 50 distributors.

Every company grows through innovation, and our research and development program includes funding to explore new ways to fight blindness. Among our current research efforts is Ellex 2RT™ (Retina Regeneration Therapy), a project that is focused on new treatments for diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. In the coming years we expect to introduce more products to meet today's needs, as well as engage in research aimed at finding future treatments for the common causes of blindness.
